Our restaurant is situated close to the largest green area in Krakow
called BŁONIA, only 15 minutes walk from the Main Square. Coming to
us - you will see the relic of the past suburban architecture - the
old wooden inn roofed with sheet iron what is the name of the
restaurant Karczma "Pod Blach±".
Wooden tables and benches, the same floor and the ceiling,
waitresses in regional costumes, and a lot of old stuff as a
decoration. We offer you the Old Polish cuisine, but not only.
You may try home made ravioli, bread and cakes, soups prepared in our
home recipes, different kinds of meat: beef, pork, poultry, lamb,
venison. Everything is waiting for you at our inn.

We want you to have a nice stay in Krakow, and to and experience as much pleasures as possible
- therefore we offer : DINNER WITH FOLK SHOW LIVE.
You will see very attractive dancers wearing beautiful
regional costumes, singing polish folk-songs and performing the most
popular dances - typical for Krakow's region.
You will also have the possibility to see Lajkonik - half a man,
half a horse - the very important part of Krakow's legends. One
touch of the Lajkonik's mace will guarantee you the year of
happiness.
This everything will provide you unforgettable feelings.
We also want to recommend you a HOME BARBACUE. There is a bricked grill
placed between trees in our green summer garden. There are almost no
places in Krakow, where being so close to the noisy city, you can
feel like in a village. Sitting with a glass of a good drink, and
looking at the fire you may grill (by yourself or with the help of
our staff) whatever you want: beefsteaks, sausages, hams and feel
the taste of home made bread or browned cabbage. On your order we'll
organized you a wonderful fun or a culinary feast.

You will find many interesting dishes coming from original Old Polish cuisine:
- "Stryszawski" white borsch with pieces of ham, sausage and bacon
- red borsch with stuffed dumplings
- clear soup with boiled meat-balls
- beer soups
- ravioli "Russian" way with cottage cheese and potatoes
- boiled hand of pork
- or typical polish - deep fried pork chop coated in egg and bread crumbs
You may also select something from our home recipes:
- rustic food served in a loaf of bread
- or "Bronowicka Bowl" - that is what people used to eat in old times
- baked lamb with herbs
- grilled pheasant in juniper sauce
- roa-deer's filet in ceps sauce'
We also offer some relishes like:
- home made lamb served with cowberries
- different kinds of beefsteaks
- variations from pork and poultry
- variety of fishes:
- salmon "an gratin" in tomatoes and cheese with crayfish
- fish sashlik
- sola "an gratin" with cheese and shrimps in bechamel sauce
As a complement we recommend you a glass of gold beer, cold vodka or as you wish the French wines.
How to arrive at?
It's very easy. Our inn is placed in attractive and well know part
of Krakow, close to the largest green area called BŁONIA, only a 15
minutes walk from the Main Square, close to the hotels: Cracovia, Continental,
Wanda, Demel. A big board bearing the inscription KARCZMA (-inn)
will lead you to our restaurant.
When you are coming from the side
of Cracovia Hotel, you may use one of the means of communication:
trams number 15, 18 or bus number 159.
